These Bullies Don’t Know The Poor Girl They Are Laughing At Is A Billionaire Princess-hongtran

Gasps exploded.
“Princess?”
“Did she say Princess?”
“Which one?”
The principal turned pale. “P-Princess?” he stammered.
The woman stepped forward. “Bring her to me.”
Silence.
Students looked around. Teachers looked around.
Then, slowly, every eye turned to Amara.
Amara felt like the ground had disappeared under her feet.
Daniel stared at her. “What did she say?” he whispered.
Amara could not speak. Her legs felt weak.
The woman walked toward her.
“Amara,” she said softly.
Amara lowered her head. “Yes.”
The woman knelt in front of her.
“Your father, the king, has been searching for you.”
The school erupted.
“She’s the princess!”
“Are you serious?”
“The Hulk girl?”
Students pushed closer. Phones came out. Teachers tried to control them.
Daniel felt dizzy.
“You… your…” he began.
Amara’s eyes filled with tears. “I didn’t want you to know like this,” she whispered.
The king stepped forward.
“My daughter.”
He opened his arms.
Amara froze.
The man everyone feared bowed his head. “Come home,” he said.
Her chest tightened.

She looked around—at the dusty ground, at the cracked classrooms, at the mango tree. At Daniel.
The girl who used to sit alone and be mocked was now being called royalty.
The principal dropped to one knee. “Forgive us, Your Highness,” he said shakily.
Teachers followed.
Students followed.
The same mouths that once laughed now said:
“Your Highness.”
“Princess.”
“Forgive us.”
Amara’s heart burned.
“You laughed when I was nothing,” she said softly. “You’re bowing now because I’m something.”
No one answered.
Anita, the girl who led the bullying, pushed forward. “Forgive me,” she cried. “We didn’t know.”
Amara looked at her. “If I was still poor, would you be kneeling?”
Anita said nothing.
Amara turned to Daniel. His eyes were full of confusion.
“So everything you said about your father, about being alone…”
“It wasn’t a lie,” she said. “I chose this life.”
“But why?” he asked.
“Because I wanted to be loved for me.”
Silence fell between them.
The woman in royal blue cleared her throat. “Princess, the king is ill. He needs you.”
Amara closed her eyes.
She stepped forward. “I will go.”
Gasps again.
She turned to Daniel. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.”
He swallowed. “So all this time… you were hiding a crown.”
She nodded. “I was hiding fear.”
The king placed a hand on her shoulder. “Pack your things. You will not return to this place.”
Amara looked at the school. “Let me say goodbye.”

She walked toward the mango tree one last time.
Daniel followed.
“So this is goodbye?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” she said. “My world just changed.”
He nodded slowly. “I don’t fit in that world.”
“You fit in mine,” she said quietly.
He looked up at her. “Which one?”
She had no answer.
